Meghan Markle news: Duchess of Sussex returns to Canada as Harry stays in UK amid royal news shock

The Duchess of Sussex has flown back to Canada as Prince Harry remains in the UK amid a fallout over the couple’s move to resign as senior royals.

Meghan returned to North America on Thursday to be with her eight-month-old son Archie, a spokeswoman for the Duchess of Sussex confirmed.

She “hadn’t planned” to stay in the UK for long after arriving in Britain on Monday ahead of the bombshell announcement, sources told the Daily Mail.

It comes after the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duke of Cambridge were said to have ordered their teams to find a "workable solution" over Harry and Meghan's future amid four-way talks to head off a royal crisis.

She tried it and it wasn't for her. Being a member of the royal family machine must be very difficult. They just want to live their life happy as we all do. Nothing wrong with that and unfortunately sometimes that may mean going against the wishes of your family and friends. It could not have been an easy decision especially for Harry. But he loves his wife and child and they will always come first for him and rightly so. I imagine the Queen must be very disappointed but I'm sure deep down she would want Harry to be happy and understands their decision. That's life.

None of us know exactly what has gone here for them to 'abdicate' their Royal duties. What we do know is that Meghan has suffered vicious racism in the UK, which is completely unjustified. They really do need to work something out with the rest of the Royals, otherwise they risk losing all sympathy for them. And there is a lot to be sorted out.
