Prince dead at age 57, friend Van Jones' emotional reaction

"It is so hard to talk about your friend in the past tense."

An emotional Van Jones joins Dr. Drew to remember Prince. The music icon died Thursday at the age of 57. Jones, a CNN commentator, worked closely with the musician and wants you to remember the man behind the music: "When you think about how great he was as a musician, just please understand that's a part of the greatness."

I can guarantee that those aren't fake tears... it's about time that people are bringing out publicly the humanitarian side of Prince. Things that he didn't want acknowledged when he was alive. It wasn't just because of the music or the fame that we loved him so much here in Minnesota, we loved him because he cared.

This is so heartbreaking watching Van Jones, but at the same time I am happy he is telling it like it is. Prince was more than just an entertainer, he only wanted to make a difference. I personally don't believe his death was an accident. To me many famous people die and we never really know all the facts. Love how Prince donated money to help all kinds of different programs.

Been three months now and I still grieve. It's been seven months since we lost David Bowie and I still grieve. It's been seven years since we lost Michael Jackson and I still grieve. Thirty five years since losing John Lennon and I will always grieve. These people had such an impact on my life. Always cheered me up when I was feeling down. I still have their music and I am thankful for that but losing them so suddenly put an emptiness in my soul that can't be repaired. There will never be another like any of these artist. My generation has lost big. There are still a few left I love, ((Eric Clapton) and others. All I can do is smh and always feel a profound loss. RIP to this great band in heaven.
