Personally never like using the offset extrusion methode.

I use it in one off part or throw away 3d printed parts sometimes for expediency.

But I generally find it make a model harder to "read" especially if you are sharing the file with co workers or so.eone may need to go back to this file several years down the road.

Yes it make the actually part file cleaner especially if all the planes are being displayed but still rather have an actual plane to work of.

Personal choice I guess
