Discover the Untouched Beauty of Kodingareng Keke Island | Play Episode #116
Kodingareng Keke is one of several uninhabited islands in South Sulawesi. The island is about 14 km from Losari Makassar, or about 20 to 30 minutes from Samalona Island.
From the northeast to the southwest, the island is a small island. The sand beach on the island is fine white and smooth, while the sea water is sparkling blue and clear. The coral reefs are also natural and it is suitable for doing snorkeling. A great time to visit this island is around June until September or when it is not in the rainy season. I was lucky to have a great weather in November.
This island is an uninhabited island. However, there are some gazebos or shelters that visitors can use to take some rest for a fee of Rp 50.000 per person and prices vary when it's in a group. Meanwhile, you can find a couple selling drinks and snacks in that area. Hence, it is better to bring our own food and drink while visiting this Island.
The beach is only about 20 to 30 minutes from Samalona Island or about 14 km from Losari Makassar. To go to this island, from Makassar city center, you can go directly to the nearest dock or Bangkoa Wooden pier or the port that settled in front of the Fort Rotterdam.
1. Dermaga Kayu Bangkoa
2. Dermaga Pannyua
You can rent a motorboat on one of the docks to get to the island location. The cost to take some rent is about Rp800.000 - 900.000 (return) or depending on your agreement with the driver. One motor boat can accommodate eight to ten people, and it takes 40 to 60 minutes depending on the weather. My private trip was Rp800.000 (Pulau Kodingareng and Pulau Samalona) 2 days 1 night with a return at the time of writing.
