Bought my Trek Xcaliber 6 in 650b a few months ago. LOVE it. I know it's not much different than a 26, but I could tell a difference as soon as I hit the trail

i've just bought a 2 second hand rockhopper 26er almost new, not planning on buying a 27.5 or 29 because of the marketing and business management.
Plus its so fun to play around with the 26er for me.

I don't think I'll ever have enough money to justify buying another bike, considering the money I've put into my current one.

think of it this way. everyone who rides 26 will have an insane amount of options when everyone else (probably) switches. I personally just want the best performance to cost ratio i can get; i'm not winning races or making a living im just having fun.

29er is my first real mountain bike.. I love it and do see myself buying a 27.5/650b even tho I only been riding one month...

I wont be changing my 29er for a few years yet, and by that time there will probably be yet another wheel size option that will transform my riding experience, i certainly wont be rushing out to buy 650b.

My number 1 reason my next MTB will be 26". Im not buying a bike that isn't a 26".

I tried it out and i didn't like it at all. My next bike would be 26", and the other next also. I don't care what industry says, in my environment 650b's and 29" are fancy, city street ballerinas for jocks who want to look good on their bikes. Where tough wheels and plenty of stamina is needed i find 26" much more common. So in my world 26 means a bikers choice made right, while the bigger ones are for bikers look-alikes who can't get a strong grip offroad.

I went from a long line of begged, stolen and borrowed 26ers to a carbon 27.5 Enduro a couple of months ago. It's great, for all the reasons in this video, but is it more fun than my 1/5th of the price 26er ? . . . .Nah! It's just different. I also tried a 29er Spesh Enduro. To me it felt like a big boat on the tight, rough trails around here, and the enduro is supposed to be one of the best 29ers.

26 or 27.5 are subtly different but both do the job well and are both lots of fun. If you have fast open trails, need cruising comfort, or are a cross country racer, where fast is more important than fun, get a 29er.

26, especially second hand or DIY is easily the best bang for your buck at the moment, and just as good to ride as the other two. I'll keep my 27.5 Spesh Enduro because it's great and I worked hard to pay for it. It'l be sad to sell my 7 year old 26er though, but I am a slave to fashion and I NEED a 27.5! : (

I just finished upgrading my 26. I now want to take most of the bits off the thing and get something bigger, probably a 29er.

As long as there are experienced riders that know why they ride 26, there'll be a demand for 26, and thus there will always be 26; might only be higher-end bikes from boutique brands, but they will be available. Then there's the fact that not everyone is 5'8" or taller... yea, they aren't going anywhere.
I'm not opposed to owning a 27.5, but I'm content with 26.

1, 650 B is a lot like 26 except the bike industry is stuffing it down everyone's throat.  2, The wheels don't work as well for smaller riders.  3, Comparable bikes are heavier.  4, Comparable wheels are not as strong.  5,  If you ever think you need bigger wheels go to any BMX track and check out what kids are doing with 20" wheels, or wait are they switching to 350B???

I got best of both worlds...a 2014 dartmoor hornet that takes my beloved 26" and 27.5" when I save up more money for forks and wheels.but for now 26" ain't dead

I'll take your places at Eurobike if you want. I'd be stoked to go there year after year.

Full suspension 650B, hard tail 29inch? Would be the best option I guess.
