SP #4449's 2021 6 Chime Whistle SFX

Special shoutout to @MilwaukeeRoadJames for the audio!

Believe it or not, this is the same whistle SP 4449 used back in 1989, and it was being tested on ATSF 2926 for its first test run.

Also, it almost sounds like the MD Whistles NYC 6 chime (recognized by many Trainz users besides me lol)

In the original recording, I decided to use iMovie and Audacity to minimize the hissing sound, therefore improves the sound of the whistle.

4449s SP 6, aka her _Screamin 6_ was absolutely the most beautiful sounding whistle besides Rayonier 38s custom 5 chimer during the early to mid 80s.

This is an interesting sounding whistle from SP 4449 that I've only recently heard of and apparently the 4449 used this style of whistle during the 1980s from the video recordings that I have seen.

I saw the 4449 run on the tracks by my house in 2005! It made a similar 6 chime whistle SFX just like that!

Mysteriously this whistle was used on ATSF #2926 but the question is who was the owner of the whistle?
Could be that the guy who stole the whistle in 1990s?

Should be reinstalled permanently as a secondary. It's beautiful, much better than any Hancock she wore. "If I had a nickel for every time a steam locomotive had a Hancock 3 chime, i'd be rich, and that is a lot, but weird that it happens often."

They should add No. 4449 - Crescent Lake & Grass Lake to Sound Effects Wiki, right? Especially considering the times they used the 6 chime whistle in films (even the Cross Creek Pictures logo in American Made has it too), as well as you, Aiden Andrews and Super Foxy Railway Productions.

I know I’m commenting twice, but might as well. I can confirm that this whistle is not the LFM 2926 wore. See, when going back to the official documentation of the LFM 6 Chime’s restoration, it was used for the FIRST TIME in 2022. The source of this audio was from a video in 2021, a year prior to the LFM 6 Chime’s completion. So for those saying it’s that, no, this is all probably true. It’s safe to say they weren’t kidding.

Edit: Looking at the comments, fair points have been made across both sides who think it’s the SP 6 Chime and an LFM 6 Chime. Considering the points, it could be either at this point.
