I understand how much you enjoy your alone time. Even as a child, I was not a joiner of groups and still, many decades later, prefer a small social circle and lots of time on my own. I feel rich having my few excellent friends, but I don’t need to interact with them very often. My beagle, Lucy, provides all the company I need on a daily basis. I feel comfortable in my own skin. Took me years to recognize that gift! 🌸

I totally get it. Altho I live in LA where people abound, I feel no need to interact. I don’t have social aversion but when I have to rub shoulders with others for a significant amount of time, I need between hours and days to recalibrate. So be it. I love my solo life. There’s great power in being comfortable with standing, and thriving, alone 😊💃💐

Both me and my husband can identify with what you have said! Also a few years ago, a friend moved with her husband from the UK to Spain. She felt she no longer needed a lot of people around her. Thank you for mentioning this, it helps me to understand myself more and to feel less odd. It does look peaceful where you are. Xxx

I relate 100%! I like being alone and reading, making jewelry, watching my Netflix shows, etc.

My mom is SUPER social, so she’s constantly inviting me to the pool or to picnics and festivals, etc., and then she texts me all night if I decline and asks if there’s something wrong or something I need to talk about lol. Being independent and enjoying alone time does not automatically equal depression or problems. Wish people would understand this!

I love being cut off from everyone! I recently had to cut off a person who I thought was my friend but actually brought more stress into my life than joy. I don’t miss those daily morning texts venting about the stress she had going on in her life😅

Cecelia! Yes! Thank you for validating that being alone most of the time is perfectly fine! I feel like a weirdo a lot of the time but enjoy being by myself (and with my husband when he is home from work evenings and weekends) and doing what I want and WHEN I want!
