I ate my first Pineapple Guava fruit from the garden! Try Anatoki Guava!

Guava are called Pineapple Guava, Feijoa, Feijoa sellowiana, and Guavasteen. It’s confusing. We grow two varieties, Anatoki and Takaka, Acca sellowiana (formerly Feijoa sellowiana). It’s an evergreen fruiting shrub that’s 100% pest and disease free! Learn how to grow Pineapple Guava in urban backyard garden #gardening #garden!

On the other hand, there’s the Tropical Guava, Psidium guajava. Tropical Guava are also known as Guava, Guyava and Kuawa. They are native to Central America. They are also a slow-growing evergreen fruiting shrub.

Just ate my first Guava from the garden! Picked when still firm, i had my doubts. but it was sweet! it has a very unusual flavor. i'll have my family try the other one. Three fruit just two years after planting!

Feijoa is in the myrtle family, but feijoa sellowiana (not Acca, the researcher who made that correction was corrected after DNA typing) is it's own genera.

If you want fully ripe fruit they need to fall from the tree. This is my favorite fruit.

This is Feijoa (pineapple guava) not the tropical guava.
