I give kids a 7 minute break, but they’re not allowed to use technology during the break. I lay out puzzles, legos, game cards, coloring sheets, play dough, and a couple of stem toys that I bought. Students only get the break if they complete their work. It’s a game changer for me and they look forward to it. At first it was a lot of routine and redirection so that they wouldn’t run around or start horse playing. It’s just a time to relax and interact with their peers in a friendly manner.

Totally true. I had to make a couple tweeks after Christmas last year. Just set the expectation for my kiddos n they fell into place. Positive acknowledgements to reinforcement the expectations helps smooth out wrinkles. Thanks for the Rap. Reynolds. Love all the teacher support. You inspired me through college.

I'm a TEFL teacher and spent 12 years teaching English in China.

Never really took it seriously, though loved teaching kids.
