Check out the 2021 KTM 890 Adventure R !

TM just announced their new race-inspired 890 Adventure R and 890 Adventure R Rally models today. The bikes are based on a new LC8c parallel-twin engine, featuring a 90cc increase in displacement from 799c to the 889cc. KTM added both bore and stroke, along with additional compression and 20% more mass at the crank to not only increase power but also enhance the bike’s low-end grunt.

The new 890 engine is rated at 105 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 73.76 ft-lbs of torque @ 6,500 rpm, which is up from the 790’s rating of 95 horsepower @ 8,000 rpm and 64.9 ft-lbs of torque @ 6,600 rpm. To handle the increased horsepower and torque, KTM has also upgraded the clutch with new friction plates and they also made improvements in the optional quickshifter’s functionality.

The all-new 890 Adventure machines aren’t just the 790 Adventure R with a bigger engine though. There is a long list of changes all throughout the bikes for 2021. Starting with the suspension, refinements to the settings have been made front and rear to further dial in its off-road characteristics. Also the cornering ABS and braking system have been upgraded. A new master cylinder is said to improve braking feel and updates to the brake seals and insulation have improved the heat stability as well. Further updates include weight saving changes such as a new aluminum rather than steel steering stem, a lighter subframe, and durability has also been improved with new anodized hubs and a protector for the fuel line.

I liked the older black front fender on the old 990 & 790 adventure R.

Love these quick hits of some great bikes. Any rumors on whether they will do a wider release of the rally edition at some point? 🙏

Interesting, I picked mine up yesterday and took it out today, but it came with TKC 80's not those tires you got on that one.

Very nice. Could you please supply the first 2 digits of the VIN? i.e is it "VB" for Austria? Thx.
