This is such a unique show with its own vibe and style that hasn't been replicated. I'm a casual anime fan but this show is one of the cornerstones of the genre for me

"This is the best music I've ever seen"

And you, Daniel, are the most synaesthetic person I've ever tasted

Make a spoiler filled review please. Almost every anime fan has watched Cowboy Bebop.

If you liked Cowboy Bebop, you may like the Director's other shows, namely Samurai Champloo and Space Dandy. If Cowboy Bebop is 80% serious 20% comedy, Space Dandy is 20% serious 80% comedy, with a similar episodic nature to Bebop. Champloo is also episodic with the slow revealing of the depths of the characters. He also did a show about a sci-fi lesbian rock band, but I haven't seen that one, even though I hear it's fantastic and really thoughtful.

Something about Bebop that has always captured me is that, we follow Spike at the end of his journey. Him dealing with the ghosts of his past, and in the end deciding to face them.

Shinichiro Watanabe, the director is allergic to sequels. It's a good thing he knows how to end a story.

I'm sure you've heard it many times by now, but that soundtrack was composed by the glorious Yoko Kanno, who also did work for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, The Vision of Escaflowne, and Wolf's Rain. She's basically one of the best of all time, even with a relatively small body of work compared to her peers in the anime industry.
There's a story out there that posits that it was Kanno's first test compositions that helped the team making the show decide on what the tone was even going to BE.
Regardless of the veracity of that, it's undeniable that Cowboy Bebop couldn't be Cowboy Bebop without her.

Cowboy Bebop is truly one of those stories that you are sad that it's gone and over, but you're happy to have just watched it.
It's own mortality is why it's so precious.
See all of you later, Space Cowboys.

Youko Kanno, the person who composed the soundtrack is a literal goddess when it comes to her projects.

She has also scored the Ghost in the Shell series - Stand alone complex. so if you ever decide to go watch it, you can go in atleast expecting great music. (by the way, the the rest of the show is great too)

Samurai Champloo my man, if Cowboy was his love letter to... well... bebop then Champloo was to the hip-hop scene that was emerging and pulling in jazz influences (some become lofi, others just helped to make it more mainstream.) Plus it's just this wonderful journey anime.

One thing you might appreciate is that the three old guys who keep showing up were an inspiration for Cabbage Man in ATLA.

I’m glad Daniel got to experience an anime with adult characters that is specifically intended to appeal to an adult audience. A lot of anime seems to try to appeal to teenagers (which is great!) but the genre and medium is so much more than that. Anime like Cowboy Bebop are still much needed in this day and age

The OST by Yoko Kano for cowboy bebop is one of my favourite soundtrack albums. She's the best.

Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball, Rurouni Kenshin... These were my gateway drugs to anime and Toonami's TOM was my dealer.

90s to early 2000 anime just hits different. The animation was just always so expressive and stylish, and unique to the tone the show was trying to convey. I feel like if you liked Cowboy Bebop, I can recommend Trigun. It has a really similiar tone to Cowboy Bebop and is also just an geniunly entertaining show, yet doesn't feel like it's trying to ripoff Cowboy Bebop.

I've been a fan of Cowboy Bebop since I first watched it when I was 14 years old. The soundtrack by Yoko Kanno is legendary, the style and overall vibe is just so awesome. It's been a few years since I've watched it so I just started a re-watch early this week. This review came at the perfect time! If you like this show, I'd definitely recommend Samurai Champloo and Trigun

The crew of the Cowboy Bebop definitely has a weird, loveable dysfunctional family dynamic to it that I love

The fascinating relationship between american and japanese culture and how both have continuously influenced one another in westerns, sci-fi and fantasy is amazing, and it's all on display here in Bebop 👌

I didn't watch Cowboy Bebop that long ago, but watching it always makes me feel so nostalgic and old. Like most of life has passed me by, and I'm just peacefully watching what little is left of it. It's a very specific tone.
