Captured last month, this capture showcases the October Hunter’s Moon in all its brilliance. Known as the “Hunter’s Moon,” this full moon traditionally signaled the time to prepare for winter, as hunters tracked animals ready for the colder months ahead. It's the first full moon to follow the Harvest Moon and cast a unique glow across the night sky, appearing larger and brighter due to its proximity to the horizon.

In this capture, you can see the craters and textures that make our moon such a mesmerizing subject in astrophotography. The darker patches are “maria,” and vast basaltic plains formed by ancient volcanic activity, while the bright ray structures mark impact craters, with Tycho's rays visible near the bottom.
