Ok I thought that cardboard tube was someone's arm and I had a mini heart attack thinking he was cutting someone's arm. 😂

Imagine what it must’ve been like to be some of the first people to ever look through the very first telescopes. What an unforgettable Awh inspiring moment with God looking at his glorious creation

That chromatic aberration looks like a dance party bro

This is how it starts. You get a tiny cheap £20 scope. Look at the moon seee the planets and a quick glimpse at Orion. You put it away and yet you lie awake at night thinking about what you just saw. Then you take another peak and my god your getting excited. Next it’s a small £100 refractor on a non go to eq mount. Then you see an image of the andromeda. So then you go out with you phone and amongst the smudges you see the fuzzie core. BOOM! Before you know your £14000 worse off an unhappy wife and a bunch of images which are just fantastic and your internally buzzing 😅😊

Bunch of chromatic aberration, focusing and collimation look iffy, but from what I've heard from folk who have use Galileo era replicas, "this was a triumph, I'm making a note here, 'Huge Success' " :)
Ever thought about grinding your own lenses?

This is how it all starts and then in the end you spend thousands of dollars and feel unimaginable happiness and awe 😂

It starts like this. Later you can get any high end telescope but you will always remember the first telescope you built and the view through it❤❤❤❤❤. I Loved this video of yours very much. It reminds me of my first one.

What's funny is that your $20 DIY telescope can image the Orion Nebula better than my $300 can

I also built a 20$ refractor telescope (in indian currency. 20×80=1600rupees) except it provides me with 116x optical zoom and it is made from pvc pipes so its pretty durable + it has a focuser too + there is no chromatic abberation in this telescope that i built.

For better results eyepiece should be as small as possible and as powerful as possible . Eyepiece is the lens through which we see and it actually touches our eye

My buddy in high school actually invented the telescope. Guy was a genius

making alterations in lens placement, power and dimensions you will end up in making one 9f the best telescope ever built ....

People can just craft a cardboard DIY Telescope that can point to the moon and a full on nebula, but they can't get to Mars.
