The queen costs each U.K. tax payer Less than ONE pound a year. She also voluntarily pays tax on her income and yes you are right, generates a vast amount of tourist income, for London in particular, and for the country as a whole.

Great Britain. The price you see on the shelf is the price you pay at the till.

Another one I'd add is election spending. UK spending is capped so parties can only spend a set amount on a campaign. Total spending of all parties combined in the last election was 140 million. While the last election spending in the US was 14 billion.
Even when you times it by five so population numbers match, that's still only 700 million, WAY under what the US spends.
Neither countries politicians are anything to write home about, but at least we don't spend an obscene fortune voting in these useless people. When you think what you could have done with that money instead. Seventeen 530 bed hospitals, provide 2/3 of of the entire cost of the worlds humanitarian aid funds, install solar panels on 400, 000 US homes...it goes on.

Sir Timothy John Berners-Lee OM KBE FRS FREng FRSA FBCS (born 8 June 1955), [1] also known as TimBL, is an English computer scientist best known as the inventor of the World Wide Web. He is a Professorial Fellow of Computer Science at the University of Oxford[2] and a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).[3][4] Berners-Lee proposed an information management system on 12 March 1989, [5][6] then implemented the first successful communication between a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) client and server via the Internet in mid-November.

incorrect - the queen costs tax payers nothing and in fact reduces our taxes. George III (yes the one that lost America) made an agreement with parliament to hand over all the income from the Crown Estates in exchange for a percentage of this to be received back as a budget to fund everything they need for official duties. This is known as the Sovereign Grant, it's paid for out of the money the treasury receives from the Crown Estates, not the tax payer. The Royal Family also all pay their taxes out of their private income. If the Royals stopped giving the treasury the income from the Crown Estates (say for example if we decided to get rid of the Sovereign Grant, or the Royals in general) then taxes would go UP not down to make up the deficit.

I think schools in the UK teach more about different countries and cultures, whereas the US mainly concentrates on its own history (and there isn't much of that, compared to the UK). Sean Connery was the only James Bond for me. Also - our flag is the Union Flag when it's on land, called the Union Jack when it's on a boat

It's difficult to put into words what the UK adds to the world in which we live in, mainly because we go about our business without seeking glory or recognition. It is all about the collective good and not about individual fame or status. I hope that makes sense my friend. Look forward to your next videos. PS, if you want to understand how we do things in Britain, search "Tower of London, poppies" that should give you some Idea.👍

I would add a few more pluses for the U.K. monarchy vs USA republic. Our monarch as Head of State represents ALL of us, irrespective of political affiliation, race or religion, unlike a President. Their is continuity that aids stability..unlike USA with a max. Term of 8 years. Our monarch has a constitutional role….they have soft power that blunts over weening politicians.
I would also add a huge difference many Americans remark on….we do not have a gun culture.

Please stop calling her the Queen of England. She is Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

At 11:30 he says 'despite having invented the internet, the UK has the US outclassed when it comes to average internet speeds.' So he seems to be suggesting that the US invented the internet. While it's true that the US military created ARPANET, an internal network for the US military, which some have assumed to be the earliest iteration of the internet, it did not use hypertext transfer protocol and is therefore not the internet as we know it today. Sir Tim Berners Lee invented the HTTP that the world wide web uses to transfer data and he is British. Without HTTP there would be no publicly accessible internet. It was Tim's decision to release the source code for free that we have to thank for what we know as the internet today.

My internet speed is over 1GB per second. Only rural areas with no 4G signal would be getting internet speeds as low as 13 Mbps today.

I have to take issue with "the queen of England". The current Queen is queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (whether some of her "subjects" like it or not!). England is not the UK and it certainly doesn't have it's own monarch. The last queen of England was Elizabeth I, who died in 1603.

When it comes to IQ I think some of it is education and some of it is culture. Americans {obviously not all} don't WANT to believe they are anything but the best.

I think the internet one was a little bit lame for a 0.4Mb gain, and those figures change all the time. Something better might have been the industrial revolution or Inventions with things like the Telescope, Steam engine, Seed drill, Hovercraft, Jet engine, Radar, the light bulb (yes, actually), Chocolate bar, Television, Telegraph, Catseye's, World wide web, the ATM, Hydraulic press, Telephone, Vaccination and the Tank to name but a few. You could even say inventing sports, with Football, Rugby, Golf, Baseball, Table Tennis, Darts, Cricket, Badminton, Tennis, Snooker and Hockey all invented by the British. I think all of those might have been a better entry than 0.4Mb of internet speed 😅

You say "incredible how inefficient" the US is.. Question is, inefficient for who? Maybe for the general population, yes, but for the big money making corporations? I think it is extremely efficient for them...

Sadly, Americans, on the whole, have a very poor grip on grammar and past tenses. They often make up words they think sound like past tense and fail miserably. This is not just the poor or immigrants, but also by highly educated professionals.

My mum was American, my father English, so I have no bias, and have visited the States about 16 times. The U.K. is way, way better in many more ways than the 10 in this video.I'd say internet speed was a draw/tie (yes I'm bilingual!!!).agree with Sean Connery.
