I have this LP. As a young boy I used to play the 'Bubbling' sound from a top bedroom open window to make them think I was conducting experiments in my (not so) secret lab.
The sound was _used_ in The Goon Show back in the early/mid 1950s and created by a group of producers and studio managers who worked with electronics and sound editing at the BBC which eventually developed into the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

0:06 -- "Bubbling -- Musical" = Alec Guinness' machine that synthesizes indestructible cloth in _The Man in the White Suit_.

I like the way that the narrator and his beeps don’t bother turning up for side 2. Did he think it was too silly?
