24-HOUR TURKISH FOOD TOUR IN ISTANBUL (Kadikoy)
Показать описание
Kadikoy | Istanbul, Turkey.
Join us for a food tour of Kadikoy, a neighborhood on the Asian side of Istanbul. Kadikoy is famous for its seafood and produce markets, but it's also a hub for young people and hipsters in Istanbul. With its colorful murals, craft beer breweries, and vintage shops, you can be forgiven for thinking you've landed in Brooklyn.
We came to eat classic Turkish foods, of course, and to pet all the cats! Here's a list of what we ate and where:
1. Özcan Turşuları — A pickle shop in the Kadikoy market that has been around since 1935. We try pickle juice and a few of their many selections of pickles.
2. Pide Sun — Pide is a Turkish flatbread with various toppings, traditionally baked in a hot stone oven. It's very similar to pizza. We get to take part of the cooking process here!
3. Bütme Evi — A cozy restaurant specializing in Turkish classics. We try the gozleme stuffed with spinach, sausage, and feta, and delicious manti (Turkish dumplings) smothered in yogurt and chili sauce.
4. Reks Kokoreç — Kokoreç is lamb or goat intestines wrapped around offal and slow-cooked on a grill. We try several different cuts and experienced a little ordering confusion 😅
5. Mado — A Turkish dessert chain. We try Turkish ice cream and baklava.
