Yamaha KA-M555 Stereo Tape Clicking

A horrible unit to work on. I broke the tape deck which was a blessing in disguise since I didnt have to put it back together. I run the tape decks independently of the main unit to understand their operation and diagnose the problem, and repair the faulty mech anyway. It was then condemned to the parts bin.

Nice looking unit - shame about the tape decks and lack of a tuner. 😓
I have found all sorts of strange things in electronic devices over the years - bugs (live and dead), coins, false fingernails, a bus ticket, a half-eaten vegemite sandwich, a cracker biscuit, bird seed, some sea shells, and of course parts of toys (e.g. a leg from a doll, a wheel from a Matchbox car, etc.). True story. 😎
Don't you just love the dozens of different screws you have to undo to get it apart? then you risk losing some during the course of the repair, and having a few left over when you reassemble it. 😖
