I'm a perfectionist who often stops myself from starting a project out of subconscious fear the outcome won't be perfect. However, since I took up quilting as a hobby, I've clung to one of the community's favorite mantras- "done is better than perfect." So when I make a small mistake on a quilt (or another hobby) that 99 people out of 100 would never notice and would take a huge amount of effort to fix (or might be unfixable) so I'm stressing and wanting to quit... I just remember- "done is better than perfect" to power on through. A similar sentiment is "don't let perfect be the enemy of good." Both help me when I get that anxiety at the beginning of a project or when faced with results I'm not thrilled about (yet- I've never been disappointed with the final product)

9:57 You're right about that, I get that feeling of oh... I do not know how this is going to turn out and I get somewhat nervous lol because I want it to look cool. I noticed every time I just get started regardless and continue with going for the intended look it turns out nice still. I just try to have faith in my drawing practice, and it just works out. As I just go with the flow of the drawing or the painting, I just gain more confidence or acceptance saying this is going to turn out fine and I like it.
