I have Asperger Syndrome and I get Shaun. I don't like change either. Today's advancement with technology in homes and my family so eager to make those changes I prefer not to. They don't understand why. I hate loud and much prefer quiet. Loud hurts. I can't stand crowds or even large groups. Too many in one place. I like routine and get anxious when the routine gets off course.

I absolutely do not like change. Especially air dryers in the public bathrooms. When I'm on campus and I'm in the bathroom stall and someone decides to use the dryer instead of paper towels I would start covering my ears and having a breakdown.

The way he acts with the hand dryer sound is me with fireworks I just want them to stop but it’s July fourth no one can stop holiday festivities which include fireworks I’m left to sit there and breakdown silently as everyone I know loves it I am in total panic and stress mode because I can’t make the sound stop or go away noise cancelling headphones don’t do it for me I don’t have a way to escape that horrible prison of colorful booms…ok I know it’s completely unrelated song lily really does remind me of this character because growing up he would easily be panicking in the toughest of situations or even if it’s socializing but glass man really was the father figure Shaun needed as a kid that he didn’t really have because his actual father was like my own father they both are addicted to alcohol and they blame everyone for it…instead of owning up to it.

I am an autistic person and I can relate to this much because i really hste change and I hate it a lot when the soap won't come off. I've never used a one of thode hand dryers because of the noise and I personally rather use paper towels.

This brings concern into how he would’ve been as a Dad. That’s a massive change. Plus babies cry constantly & a bunch of the time you can’t figure out why until they get older. Then there’s that transition & more with each phase of their life. He was definitely not ready to be a Dad.
