I Tried Unique Japanese Vending Machines In Tokyo

So we traveled to East Asia to film a six-part series about beauty, style, and shopping and we’re kicking it off with a tour of some of Tokyo's most interesting vending machines! Japan has a TON of vending machines that you can purchase a variety of goods from, and we visited 4 different machines all over the city to investigate some of the strange ones we had heard about. We got some canned bread, hornet larva, spicy snacks, hot soup in a can, and mystery box items from a ~creepy~ vending machine corner!

A huge thanks to RinRin for helping us! You can check her out here:

"Do not put bath salts in Your butt"... Well, behind every warning label, there's a story. Usually a good one.

rinrin flipping the can in safiya's hand when she was holding it upside down was so funny

Rinrin is probably my most favorite recurring character in Safiya's vlogs

Bread was literally the first food ever "canned".
Napoleon offered a prize if anyone could come up with a way to preserve food for his armies on the march. Someone poured bread dough in a wine bottle, corked it, and boiled it to cook the bread. The bottle had to be broken to get the bread out. That's how canning started.

I want all of these vending machines in America. It would be great for college campuses or near bars, where people are likely to crave little food items.

I love that someone actually made a conscious decision to put bug larva and kitty cat purses in a vending machine together lol

Tyler is such a great husband. Runs around Japan to find you the hot soup from a vending machine, that’s true love ♥️

Tyler: "Why are we $20, 000 in debt"
Saf: *hiding thousands of canned bread in her closet* UHHH

I was very concerned they wouldn’t get a cat purse. I’m relieved.

Rinrin saying “Dinner” at 21:17 gives me serotonin and I can’t understand why.

The “creepy vending machines” is actually for emergency purposes because there was a big earthquake and the building fell down and killed a few people a long time ago. There’s funny jokes on the vending machines to make people not panic and feel relaxed. The “mystery boxes” with inappropriate comments on the box is an adult video (or porn to be accurate). The one Safiya picked is an old comedy for entertainment when there’s nothing to do while an evacuation. They don’t really replace the foods, so I hope the ones Safiya got wasn’t expired. (I know this because I’m Japanese and I can read Japanese)

Honestly Saf’s genuine laughter at the pop rock note is so funny to me. Like hearing her in her narrator voice reading what it said and then bursting out laughing just got me.

Tyler just running around and finding the soup has the same vibes as when Marshal just runs around NYC and finds Lily on New Years in HIMYM
