Armor of God | Girls Gone Bible

On this weeks episode we're talking about the Armor of God and we read from Ephesians 6.

The "Armor of God" is a biblical metaphor used by the Apostle Paul to describe the spiritual tools and defenses that Christians are encouraged to "put on" to stand firm against spiritual challenges and temptations.

Paul’s main points:
—be strong in the Lord
—put on the armor
—take your stand
—stay alert
—keep praying

The Armor of God:
The belt of truth
The breast plate of righteousness
Shoes of the gospel of peace
The shield of faith
The helmet of salvation
The sword of the Spirit

For anyone wondering what happens to the people you pray for after you leave, I was one of them. A lady approached me in a Dollar General parking lot, prayed for me, and even prophesied things in my life that had already happened—things nobody knew about. She asked if I wanted to accept the Lord into my heart, but I told her I wanted to read about it first. The next day, I bought a Bible, started journaling, and now here I am today, walking in faith. Sometimes, people like me wouldn’t be here if you didn’t go out and disciple to others. Thank you for your boldness!

I love when you said that we have to be that weird Christian. Yes. We are called to be set apart. I heard a quote by Jefferson Bethke who said “there's a problem if people only know you're a Christian by your Facebook.” We should be LIVING & WALKING in our Faith so much that people KNOW we are Christians by how we live. ❤❤❤❤

Whenever I watch you guys I always end up leaving to go read my Bible 🥹🥹🫶🫶 love love love how much you two talk about scripture and the word of God! When I first started watching you guys I was inspired to read the Bible in a year and I’ve been doing it through the Bible recap plan. Changed my life! I’m now 64% of the way through!! Love you guys! GGB Friyay! Reading the bible straight thru can be hard, especially Numbers when God is designing in cubits. Had to learn to just stay in awe and marvel at how intricate of a Creator God is. Keep going, genealogy of Jesus in Matthew hits different when you know stories behind the names. Especially Tamar, Rahab, and Ruth the love and mercy of Jesus Christ is the Messiah. For His is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever🙌

My sister was a believer and experienced church hurt. Shes my best friend but it feels like I lost a part of my sister now that I can’t even speak about God around her. Ive been mourning our relationship with God, she’s special. She was anointed with visions. Losing that special gift of praising the Lord together has left me in grief. Please pray that God works in her heart and brings her back to him.

Something that really helped me was whenever I feel like I don't have enough faith, I always remember that God is faithful. It doesn't matter how much faith I have, he is always faithful, he will help me and being me through the storm. Amen.

This week my sister & I realized the “Bible study” we had been participating in via zoom for the last 8 months is actually an organization who’s end goal was to pull us FAR away from Jesus 😭 We confronted them & said we would no longer be attending. One of the members reached out trying to defend the organization but couldn’t even answer if he believes that Jesus is Lord 😔 We were very shaken up by how deceived they had us. Thank you Jesus for showing us the truth before we got in deeper!! 🙏🏽 Just wanted to share in case anyone gets approached to join what seems to be an innocent online Bible study.
