One of the reasons why you want to have some bend in your front knee at launch position...offspeed pitches. 10 year old, Mataia Lawson of the Beverly Bandits was able to drive this pitch up the middle because she was able to sink into her front side while keeping her hands back. Had she strided with a locked out front knee should wouldn’t have been able to adjust.
