How does their depiction shape our understanding of the actual dynamics of volcanic events? What can we learn, and what should we be asking when watching eruption footage? We will explore the answer to these questions and take a close look at some recent case studies of volcanic depiction in the media.

Arianna is an associate professor of volcanology at NCSU. Always fascinated by volcanoes since an early age, she turned her passion into a profession over the years studying and working all over the world, including France, the UK, and Germany.
