This happened to my ex girlfriend. She was a Russian Jewish girl from New York, but looks Italian. After 9/11 she was very stressed and overwhelmed so I decided to send her to a Spa Day in a town outside of Boston. It was known for having a large Russian population. When she got there, they were all speaking Russian, but didn't realize she could speak it fluently. when I came to pick her up about two hours later, she looked visibly upset. I asked her what was wrong, but she wouldn't tell me until we went up to pay. When they handed me the receipt, I went to put money in for the tip, and she grabbed a pen and put zero with a big slash across it and then started going off on them in Russian. They were trashing her, make up, teeth, eyebrows, hair, skin, and choice of nail color. If I had known, I wouldn't have paid it all.
