My Trading Strategy Part 4: Setup Selection & Market Conditions

Trading is hard.

I’m not here to sugarcoat it or make it seem easy.

My goal with this series is to get you the right information so you can actually become profitable.

You are going to have to unlearn all the bs you have been taught by everyone else.

You will also need some patience and lots of hours.

If you spend the same amount of time you do playing video games on mastering a single setup, you will make a lot of money over the next 10 years.

In this chapter I go over how to find winning stocks that will make big moves and how to chose which ones are the best to trade.

Here is the checklist:

1. Are we in a bull trend? Yes. (If no, 10 sma is probably below 20 sma so you won't be trading anyway)

2. What are the leading sectors?

Leading sectors can be identified by group strength, Ex: majority of tech stocks are going up on high volume.

There can be multiple leading sectors.

3. What are the leading themes within that sector?

Ex of themes would be meme stocks, EV stocks, etc

4. What are the leading stocks within the leading sector/theme?

Identifying the leading stock within a leading sector/theme is easy considering you identified those two first.

Leading stocks will have made the biggest moves and typically are the first to breakout before the rest follow.

Leading stocks will have the highest volume and percent gains. The ones that are up the most on the highest volume.

To get my chart layout, you first have to sign up for TC2000.

Thanks for your emphasis on finding the leading sectors Morgan! I think the leading sector should be sectors vital for society, such as oil/natural gas stocks.
