So basically, the twins were both born male. But a botched circumcision led their parents to make her a girl at the recommendation of the sex therapist the kids were currently seeing at this point in the time of the episode. Anyways it turns out the therapist viewed it as the perfect experiment to prove its nurture, not nature, that determines gender identity, so basically they were test subjects and he treated them as such. However, Lindsay had always felt different, and after learning the truth. decided to change back to his original birth gender, a boy.

The therapist was arrested for m*lestation, as for years, he had been showing them p*rnographic photos and even forcing them to enact sex on each other. (this was all part of him treating them as test subjects in his experiment)

edit: forgot to add, one of the twins k*lled the therapist, but it was long enough after Luke (formerly Lindsay) had his treatment that his and his brothers dna was identical, so they really didn't have evidence to charge either kid

they have identical DNA, which means they were born the same gender. (both born male.) and her birth certificate being changed 6 months after birth suggests whatever they did, she was an infant. horrifying. id love to know the bigger picture but theres only so much in a YouTube short haha.

I really, really need yall to understand that this is basically what happens to intersex people on the regular. Delivery doctors dont test chromasomes or anything like that. They just look.

But sometimes, the parts we can see on the outside of a person's body dont match the inside.
Not every newborn that looks like it has a vagina has a uterus inside.
Not every newborn that looks like it has a penis has testicles.

But they dont check. They look, decide what it looks like, and choose their procedure.

Intersex people often grow up having absolutely no idea that any of this occurred, that they are intersex, or what their insides are like. They just... Find out. At the doctor for a physical. After noticing the differences in how they develop, like unsual/lacking facial hair, or not menstruating despite living their life thinking of themself as female.

This shit is real. The more we deny that sex and gender identity are complex things, the more we protect practices such as this.
Regardless of your politics, regardless of what you think "gender" entails--

Biological sex is not black and white.
Its BARELY male and female.

Look up how a human embryo's sex is determined.
Think about how many different processes and potential outcomes that is. Its not gauranteed that an embryo which develops a penis will have all the other traits associated with the word "male", and vice versa. Those traits are determined by different things.

My point here isnt to do away with such terminology. My point is that we cannot continue using terminology which we do not fully grasp.

And we dont.

The public's understanding of biological sex is severely lacking and misinformed. For the sake of our children, that needs to change.

Stop operating on babies that dont fucking need it.
