Direct Quote from Niantic

"The Pokémon GO product team will continue to make all decisions on the operation and future of Pokémon GO. Being part of Scopely will not change our approach to serving our Trainers, and we will continue delivering the gameplay you all know and love."

The moment I get ads is the moment I uninstall pogo for good.

How many times will we hear HomeSlice Henry say, "Scopely, fix your game, man"?

Scopely did NOT buy this game to not make money on it. It will be their cash cow until it runs it's course. I'm guessing ads will pop up in the game now like they have in monopoly go. Marvel Strike Force is also under the umbrella for them, that is 2 games already they own and have slowly ruined by cashing out on them. I'm gonna go out and say that Scopely is gonna make Niantic look like a non profit organization.

We're screwed. If the claims are true on what people say(that being that Scopoly is worse than Niantic), we're screwed.

My belief is similar to yours; nothing or barely anything will change, at least until after Go Fest.

The team is still the same, and everything up to that point and probably for the rest of the year had been planned already, and they work on adding it into the game and fixing bugs when they release.

If there's news about mass layoffs then I'll be fearful, but for now I expect nothing, hopeful for improvements, and the fear for downfall of pokemon go will probably fade unless something happens.

Edit: If Scopely listens to the community it could improve Pokemon Go massively. Something as little as remote raids or global lucky trades would improve both the game and people's perception of the company and the future. But we will have to see.

Let this be your sign to transfer your most beloved mons in your storage to Home before they make you pay for that or, even worse, lose them forever

Maybe if Niantic didn't limit Remote Raids and let players play how they wanted to, this wouldn't be happening. The insistence on in person activities definitely led to this. On the plus side, I can see Remote Raids being unlimited and maybe even Remote Dynamax Raids. On the down side, I can see prices going up. Only time will tell, but Niantic fucked up.

Niantic got too focused on people playing with “their community” that they forgot that the community is truly world wide and not limited to the city/town that you live in

I really hope this isn't the end of Pokémon Go, I just managed to get my Ultra League Skeledirge...

As a former MoGo (Monopoly Go) player and a PoGo Player since the beginning, I am worried. PoGo has always been fun to play even without spending real currency on it. You could still get plenty of shiny Pokémon on CD without a pass. All the charges Niantic did always felt like a little bonus, never a requirement. MoGo was fun at first but eventually it became where you HAD to pay to win, otherwise you couldn’t complete challenges. I hate to admit that I spent hundreds of dollars in a short time of playing MoGo than I did playing PoGo for several years.

Niantic didn’t really care about the fan base to begin with.. we are truly F’d

For the best outcome I hope Scopely leaves that 2016 nostalgia, that Niantic tries so hard to keep, behind. If they want more money they should remove the remote raid limit, allow remote raids for shadows and Dynamax, lower the prices of remote raid passes, hopefully get rid off the "rediscover Kanto" spawns people are tired of, etc.

I’m starting to transfer shinies I don’t have a use for in pogo to Pokemon Home. You never know if they remove that feature.

When a company spends over 3 billion on a purchase, better believe they expect to make that back plus significantly more. Expect more monetization. They didn’t acquire the game to keep it the same and give you freebies. Thinking it’ll stay the same after spending that much money is pure copium.

I gotta start the migration process of the Pokémon I care about and bring them into home

I've seen something similar recently with Star Wars: The Old Republic (The MMO) where EA sold the game to a company called Broadsword. Players feared that the game would go down and die out or go in maintenance mode, with no more updates. This is not what's been happening so far.

Broadsword has since made consistent bug fixes, introduced features players have been asking for a *long* time like mounts with companions, more companion quests and avatar modernization. All while continuing the main story loop and providing new content.

Wait and see, friends. We may get a better Pokemon Go game in the end.
