Im not vegan but I have tried another type of vegan sashimi in Singapore and it very much close to the real sashimi. It got its fishy ocean taste from a combination of red algea, white seaweed, and kelp.

I accidentally bought vegan “tuna” once. It was so foul. It fizzed when you ate it and burnt like a chemical burn. Even my cat wouldn’t eat it.
