Soul on top. I am convinced u are related to Mr. Brown. Nobody can take the music of James brown and add the rare photos, film footage and editing and bring so much life to the funkiest music ever recorded.

This is The Song that hooked me to Mr. Brown as a little boy back in the 1960's

They say this record is when the funk started. But to me it started when he joined the Famous Fames . This is why Bobby Byrd stayed with him after he was put out front.

Maceo and St.Clair really got down on this one. The Godfather made the band members known and the band members made him look good also.

This is The Classic Original Version. The popular version was sped up faster.

I have never seen the Vietnam and Ready Steady Go performance or heard the audio performance of those shows. I hope it premieres on your channel first!!!

Believe it or not I never cared for the original single all that much because I knew it was sped up and his voice was too high. As a matter fact I like the 1975 remake better than the classic 1965 single. But this is the way it was actually recorded, slower and more in the pocket and funkier. I prefer this original slower version much more than the studio single.
