this is a video of some egr that I replaced and how they failed

This is just a quick look at VW egr replacement
on a 1.6 /2.0 egr
I will only use a OEM egr as I had problems with other brands and having them fail soon after fitting.

book a good few hours to do the job

This engine is in the vag group of vehicles

The best video guide I’ve watched. Brilliant idea doing the job and putting it all back in place loose to show each part coming off 👍👍.

Excellent walk through the best ive seen, enough detail to for me to now decide, I've had it crawling on my back under cars and its off to the garage and the kids can starve for a week to pay the garage bill and the wife can do without her car until mine is fixed😁😁😁😁 Seriously this is a great video guide for those with experience to follow on key sequence's and for those without to understand the tedious work involved.

Wow, just wow... Actually I wanted to buy a B8 cr tdi, but after watching a few videos like this, thanks NO. I will just stick with my old B5.5 avf tdi. Way easier to maintain in every aspect. Gonna get a new turbo + camshaft and bearing kit plus dm clutch kit and it will be ready for the next effortless 350k kms again.

Toil, took me about 12 hours over 3 ngts after work on the drive . Absolute mare of a job especially without a pit or ramps. No wonder VW want £2k to replace, i took turbo manifold out and pulled it up and out 😳

Man, thats a hell of a job. I just recently had the coil light come on along with the engine management light, took the car to a garage for a diagnostic scan and came back with 40 grams build up (I think in the dpf). Didn't have time to get it fixed so ended up getter the car back then the dpf light came on. Took the car for a drive and done an actve regeneration (driving in 4th gear at 3000 rpm) and the dpf light, coil light and engine management light went off. Got back home from the drive and the coil light came back on. Took the car bacl to the garage for another scan and came up with error code P246E00 (egr temperature sensor) but the emission build up was down at 7 grams when before it waa at 40 grams. I don't know if its the dpf thats causing problems or the egr temperature sensor, it's doing my head in and its stressing me out.
