The strokes in general, more specifically room on fire and first impressions of earth have such a signature sound that is just so “the strokes”

Matty do you have a good source to learn more about the different methods utilized in classical music. In Philosophy you have logical fallacies, and you can study them. I'm having a hard time finding a good source for studying these different classical tools like line cliche etc.

Don't they do that a lot in their first album or is it called something else? Like, tension building in the chorus of Hard to Explain.

Anyways, Regina Spektor said she likes how The Strokes use tension and release. I wonder if you can explain how The Strokes releases tension.

Interesting, also the lyrics are supposedly about Courtney Love.

I always just thought of it as a pedal bass

Does the pre chorus of hard to explain also count as a line cliche?
