I've been wanting a game like this since the days of X-Wing Alliance. Stepping into that TIE/Ln cockpit for the prologue mission took me back to when I was 8 years old, blasting Rebel scum in TIE Fighter on Windows 95.

I've not experienced any loading issues like you mentioned, although there is something funky going on with frame rates. I'm getting over 100fps according to my overlays, however the gameplay feels significantly more choppy than it should do for such high frames. That being said though, it hasn't really detracted much at all from the experience and I've been having a ball so far. Going to complete the campaign prior to diving into them multiplayer, which I'm imaginging will be pretty brutal with some real aces out there.

The biggest issue I've had with it, is mapping keybinds for HOTAS and other flight peripherals like rudder pedals. It's a very awkward system, my rudder pedals aren't even being recognised properly in the game so I'm unable to use thme for the yaw axis like I intiially wanted to (it works just fine in IL-2 and DCS). There's also NO headtracking support. For a game that's fully VR compatbable that seems like madness, since the hard work is already done. It would add so much for us flight simmers who want a taste of that old X-Wing magic, but with the freedom to look around like we're used to in flight sims.

Did you install it on a SSD ?
I had no slow load times like you experienced.
