Oh my goodness.. $2k and all that….I don’t think I could withstand those things. This is why it is so hard for me to buy a used bag…I am OCD and can’t withstand thinking that even someone put keys directly into their purse amongst other things. I am never never place my bags on any ground, trunk space, etc…. On on clean surfaces or I will just keep in on my lap or hanging on a restaurant chair. I sold about 7 LV bags of TRR and I keep my bags in impeccable shape; they were listed very good and excellent condition. Based on what you said all of my wallets and bags should have been listed excellent. No corner wear, no stains whatsoever. My hardware sometime is a bit discolored but for bags I use less the hardware pretty much does not even have any visible scratches. I don’t buy the plastic wrap protectors, it is just the LV hardware when used seems to discolor over time. I actually think Coach standard brass hardware is way better quality than LV.

my experience with The Real Real has been hit or miss. Recently, I scored a YSL bag I couldn’t find anywhere and when it arrived it was in even better condition than expected. I was so happy. The next, recent purchase was an LV wallet that was in worse condition than shown or described. Fortunately, that item (unlike the bags) was returnable and that’s what i did

It’s such a cute bag! I hope you can find one in pristine condition!
As far as TRR, I’ve had both really good and really bad experiences.
The bad: two Balenciaga bags. One was a Velo with a bolt completely missing on the strap, which prevented the long strap from even being used. It was not disclosed in the description, and neither was the fact that the piping was exposed in one area. My local shoe repair shop was able to fix the strap, and I had to use paint on the piping area. The other bag was dry and brittle and I couldn’t salvage it no matter how much I conditioned it. That wasn’t disclosed either.
I’ve bought Gucci bags and LV bags from them with no issues whatsoever, other than their poor quality packaging and slow ship times (unless you get Express shipping). Just this week I received MY dream bag from them: an LV Speedy B 30 in monogram. It’s a 2011 but it’s In AMAZING condition. I don’t think the owner must’ve used it much at all. Came with box, dust bag, strap, and lock and keys. Whole set for several hundred off retail. It’s a gamble with TRR and I’m nervous every single time I purchase. My go to is Yoogi’s, but they don’t always have the exact bag(s) I’m looking for. Good luck on your return and finding one in better shape! 🤗

I’ve had a similar experience and they accepted a return; they saw the omission of the damages that were there. Seems they sometimes strategically cover up damages in the photos by using straps or by just not photographing certain areas. 🙄

Better beware. They are notorious for this. Their pictures are sketchy and descriptions inaccurate. I bought a Givenchy from them said minor scuffing. It was literally worn out. Had two holes in the leather and pockets were full of human hair. Had to file a case with PayPal to get a refund. It literally made me ill. So, I do not buy from them.

See that’s why I refuse to buy from TRR or Fashionphile. They charge too much for used bags. If you want it in excellent condition, the price is similar to buying it new.

TRR is very hit and miss but you can find great items. Their pics and descriptions are horrible though. I stick to smaller value items, not usually bags. It’s quite convenient for selling (consignment) as they take a huge variety of designer items. But don’t expect to achieve top dollar as they cut prices often and you usually have no say in the matter.

Aaryn I would’ve done the same exact thing and not waited. And dealt with any issues later. Their website specifically says that you get a refund if the product is not as described and I would 100% do a charge back on my credit card if that ever happened. I’m willing to go through that if I find something I love. But honestly if it’s something that is rare or hard to find I would be ok with sending it to either leather surgeons or purse rehab to get the leather touched up. They both do an amazing job. I don’t buy preloved very much as it is, except for a couple Chanel reissue bag in discontinued colors, But if it’s not in excellent condition I don’t want it generally. I did buy one bag years ago from the real real that was a discontinued Chanel style and it was as described.

Wow that is a bummer, the bag is gorgeous, such a shame, but I would not settle either. Sale or not it is an expensive bag to come damaged.
