Kay is trapped in a room with a xenomorph. While Kay is desperately begging Andy to open the door and let her out, the xenomorph stalking her just sits behind her and waits patiently.
Andy refuses to open the door, because that’s what the creature is waiting for them to do. Rather than just killing Kay now, the xenomorph is waiting for her friends to open the door, so it can attack them as a group.
The group watches helplessly as Kay is attacked by the Xenomorph and dragged into the depths of Renaissance.

You can tell the director played Alien Isoaltion.

To anyone who thinks Andy could’ve saved her in time are forgetting just how lightning fast the Alien is. There was also a chance that the door would’ve malfunctioned due to how damaged the station was.

This was the same decision that Ripley made before Ash overrode her, and we all know how that turned out…

“Andy she’s pregnant”
Andy: “yeah she is”

1:07 I swear the xenomorph is smiling. I like how they hinted it has a dark intelligence just like the Big Chap in the first film. It’s smart to set a trap and seems to enjoy its victim’s panic and pain.

Andy was right about the xenomorph waiting for the door to be open

The horror aspect gave me some alien isolation vibes, even though it was going back to what made the orginal successful.

As it was stalking Kay in that room, it knew she was right underneath it.

Tyler was so fucking desperate man, you can feel it. He tried to do everything right but things just went from bad to worse especially for Kay who had no breaks at all, just suffering and then more suffering 😭

It misses the most sinister part. Where she asks Andy what is his prime directive. He matter of factly replies

"To do what is in the best for the company"

"I am going to remove that chip from you"

Andy coldy replies with quiet threat in his tone, "That would not be what is best for the company"

The thing I love about this whole scene is Cailee’s fearful and panicking facial expression when she sees Andy backing away and not helping Kay. Great acting by everyone in this scene

When you’re playing Alien Isolation and you’re almost at the save phone but the xenomorph is right behind you

Just remember that this is exactly what they were going to do to Andy, abandon him to die because he was inconvenient. In a way, he was telling them "now you know what it's like."

Actually, Andy was doing exactly the right thing: not risking the whole group by opening the door. It was what Ripley wanted to do in Alien and Ash overrode her.

This movie was amazing as a first watch it is awesome to see that both the predator and alien franchises are both producing solid entrees again

This scene is simply tense and well done. It represents a lot of desperation in situations of helping or not, it reminded me of Among Us

I don't think the actual issue was Andy refusing to save Kay. What he did is the right choice. However, the fact he reveals he is following Weyland Yutani protocols cements him to be a dangerous and unpredictable element.

The good thing is that they used again actors to portrait the xenomorphs
