What is the right size pump and filter for your above ground pool? These tips will help you find the correct size pump and filter system to keep your above ground pool water clean and circulating season after season.

We recommend choosing a pool filter that is at least 1 Sq Ft per 10,000 gallons pool capacity.
- For above ground pools up to 24 Ft Round, use a 1 HP pump
- For above ground pools over 24 Ft Round, use a 1.5 HP pump

The same is true for Oval Pools:
- For oval above ground pools up to 15x30, use a 1 HP pump
- For oval above ground pools over 15x30, use a 1.5 HP pump

I have a 24ft. round pool and I have a 1.5 pump. My motor went out and that is all I could get. Is this ok. I was having trouble with filtration on the kit sent with my pool which was a 19in filter with 1.0 horse pump so I didn't it mattered much. Filtration still isn't great. Any insight for me
