It has been a HUGE comfort to me lately that Gos is big enough for our bad theology. I have spent the past year really struggling with the Gavin Ortlund/Trent Horn/Redeemed Zoomer/Jimmy Akin/Matt Fradd/Gospel Simplicity inspired “should I be catholic or Protestant” dilemma, and what I’ve really come to really rest in is that God is gracious and wants us to pursue him and that he pursues us. He’s not going to let us go.

This makes me think of David and Abraham. They both tried to talk God out of something. In Abraham’s case god said yes. To David he said no. God does want to talk and reason with us, and he is just and fair in his reasoning and how he treats us 😄

So yeah, not really how god works in Chris’ case, but wow, what an amazing testimony for Jesus!

Yes it’s bad theology, but you can’t expect good theology from someone who hasn’t accepted God into their heart. It got him in the door and now Jesus can transform his heart.

I think believing in God because God has apparently answered your demands is a shaky foundation for faith. But it still is faith in God and faith can develop over time.

If am wrong someone correct me.. but isn’t that “ tempting” our lord and savior, Jesus says don’t tempt me, like saying if you do something for me? I will follow you.. even knowing the fact in your own heart that Jesus is real! Jesus is alive, and you believe in him, but you gonna set a question to our lord saying do me a favor & i will follow, or if you dont? I wont follow?
