Is Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas still good in 2025? When it came out, it was the largest cruise ship in the world. Now, 20 years later, many people are wondering if it's too old, too small, or too outdated.

Join me on this review of Freedom Of The Seas and find out if it's still a good cruise option in 2025 or if you should skip it. I will compare what Freedom Class vs. Oasis Class ships have to offer and show you some striking differences between Freedom Of The Seas and Icon Of The Seas. This video will also help you if you are looking to sail on the other Freedom Class ships - Independence of the Seas or Liberty of the Seas.

I'm on Freedom as I write this and it's been a great experience, every bit as good as the first time I sailed on her 15 years ago!

We did the Independence in 22.
Just got off carnival Vista this weekend.
The freedom class are quite a bit larger than the Vista and the Vista is still enormous.
Plus the freedom has a far less cramped interior design i.e. bars, halls, entertainer venues.
We now have freedom booked Oct of 25😊

We just cruised our first time with Royal Caribbean on the Independence of the Seas during spring break this year(2025), awesome cruise! Had zero issues with crowds, congestion, long lines, etc. We loved it so much we’ve already booked next year on the Freedom of the Seas. Can’t wait!

I was on Freedom of the Seas August 2024. Lovely ship. Enjoyed the entire cruise.

We cruised both Freedom and Independence of the Seas and had a nice experience both times. Can’t complain. Will definitely cruise on either one again

Recently in March 2025, cruise on this ship and enjoy every moment. Not crowded just comfortable. ❤

1st ever cruise was freedom over 15 years ago. From memory it was just before the Oasis class started to kick in so this felt pretty revolutionary at the time. Never experienced anything like it.

Nowadays id still enjoy it for its more classic feel but still having enough to do.

Went on Freedom in late 2022 and loved it. I will say those bridge dances in the promenade were pretty hilarious though. Certainly made for ridiculously fun people-watching while I sipped on a cocktail off in the corner.

Another great video, Kat! I was in Liberty od seas, its a laid back ship, however the ship is outdated. I did enjoy my vacation to La romona, and Grand Turk.

I sailed on Indy in 2020 just before Covid. The balcony cabin was supposed to sleep 4 adults, but my 13 and 15 year old teenagers had to share a tiny sofa bed and their feet were out of it... we sailed on Harmony and Symphony and the sofa bed was long enough... Still, we loved it and prefer the freedom class ships but the newer ships have better sofa-beds...

Have sailed on 90/120, 135 and 160 ton (like Freedom) as well as the 245 ton ships. They are all good, unique ships. One should experience them all and decide which is right for them for that cruise.

I like your answer. One size does not fit all. People are always looking for the next best thing, and expectations are different for everyone. If everything is clean and safe I don't care about outdated furniture or carpet. Also the iteniary is still amazing, as well. We are starting on a voyager class ship and it will meet all of our needs/wants. This way, when we upgrade classes we will be very satisfied and wowed. I am excited and looking forward to future cruises on freedom and oasis class, and will probably not go above that for a long while just because of cost. I also feel like I do not really want to pay thousands for a ship where I can very well miss lots of what they have to offer because it IS so much. This is of course a personal opinion. Thanks for sharing all this information!

Our first cruise was one of the first ones back following Covid. And boy did we got spoiled. Sailing with us was less than 1000 people and we had a 3 to 1 crew vs cruiser ratio.

Our second cruise was last year on independence and it was a nice ship. It was an eye opener though sailing at full capacity and took some adjustment. Still nice though. We had a blast in the casino. My wife and I aren’t into the shows or entertainment. Just like hanging out so this class is perfectly fine for us.

We were on the Adventure of the Sea in May and loved it ! Casino was very tight but is was a great cruise, we like the mid size ships much better the the over crowded big ships
