THIS! I’m currently going through an issue with toxic black mold not being remediated properly, exposing my family and self even more. PROBLEM: I call for an appt with a lawyer, but I'm not allowed to speak to any lawyer until I sign a consent. The consent says they get half my award--EVEN IF they don't represent me. AND the consent becomes BINDING three days after the phone call--but I still haven't spoken to a lawyer! BS. I cancelled that consent on the second day and won't call Morgan and Morgan again.

I often wonder what would have happened had I consulted a lawyer over the death of my wife. Mind, it wasn't an accident, it was cancer, but I have suspicions that the treatment she was receiving in the end was not working for her. But my thought at the time was, "Do I really want to go through the stress of suing a hospital and oncologist at the same time I'm grieving?" I figured I probably wouldn't win in court so I didn't. That, and my wife and I had great life insurance policies at the time and I was worried that a lawyer would see that and decide to push the case harder than need be to increase billable hours.

I was injured at work and they threatened to fire me when my doctor told me to take time off. My manager had lied to me and said that repetitive strain injuries couldn't be workers comp (they can) and then refused to follow any accommodations. My biggest regret is that I didn't stay and let them fire me. I wish so badly that I had spoken to a lawyer before I left

When searching for a PI attorney, don't just go to the ones with the big ads. You should seek referrals from a local attorney you may know. You also need to seek out an attorney who specializes in certain areas of PI cases and parties. Some may specialize in 'slip and fall' cases, other cars crashes, others with motorcycle or truck cases. Some PI's may have more experience in certain court jurisdictions or types of Defendants.

I was fired, not even fired, just ghosted by my employer after an on-the-job injury and I can't find anyone to take the case. They'll take the workers comp case but no one wants to do anything about me losing my job

I've never had any thing more than traffic tickets. But if it's more than a speeding ticket, it's best to consult with an attorney. It usually costs nothing. If you go to court for something minor the attorneys have standard fees.
