The Carl Perkins catalog is full of great songs and Dixie Fried is no different. It has a simple structure, but if full of lots of great little parts that make it a really fun song to play.
We're going to break it down into three parts. Intro, main rhythm, and solo ideas. All of it revolves around a motif that climbs from the major 3rd to the 5th. Once you get the concept down you'll be off an running!

Good song choice! It may not be his best-known song, but one historian of Sun records called it "arguably the high point of Perkins' career on record, and probably the best song he had a hand in writing."

Oh, and a deep cut suggestion from Buddy Holly, "Midnight Shift".
