Rust's face when he shows up for dinner fucked up always hit hard/hurt like enough for me to almost audibly react. He's just totally defeated in himself and also petrified at the same time of being around that type of company again. He's coherent and fully accepting the circumstances and one if not the only time he seeks forgiveness in Marty, not many lines of dialog but holy shit the despair is palpable just from Rusts expressions when the door opens.
