Kawhi and Paul George's Clippers | A Legacy Of Nothing

preview_player
Показать описание
After 5 years, the Clippers duo of Kawhi and Paul George has split, thus ending an era of Clippers basketball defined by unfulfilled expectations. When this duo was formed 5 years ago the expectation was that they would finally deliver the Clippers their first NBA Championship, and help them exchange the shadow of the Lakers in Los Angeles. Instead this duo never even made the NBA Finals, and leaves little legacy in their wake...

Chalres Barkley quote still lives stong
"I've been poor, I've been rich, I've been fat, I've been in the Hall of Fame, and one thing I can tell you is that the Clippers have always sucked."

As bad as the nets situation was the clippers situation is 10x worse. They have zero picks until 2030 and a roster that's old and breaking down.

Clippers right now are looking more like paper clips than the battleship they’re supposed to be

I have to say, I'm shocked the Clippers didn't extend Paul George. Whenever Kawhi was injured for extended periods, it was Paul George who always stepped up and did his best to lead the Clippers as far as he could during those years. I mean Paul George got the Clippers to their first and currently only WCF, and I think they should've extended him for that reason alone. I remember that one year when Kawhi basically missed the entire season, Paul George did everything he could with that roster and got them the 8th seed right before he got COVID before the playoffs. I know they never won anything, but I think Paul George got done dirty by the Clippers.

PG is arguably the greatest clipper ever just for being the one to take them to their first WCF

Kawhi should’ve signed a 1and1 in Toronto after the title. One of the biggest mistakes I can think of in recent memory. The bubble year, he would’ve definitely made the conference finals and likely a second NBA finals. Instead he’s spent the last 5 years in LA choking his career away on injuries.

The “if they’re all healthy” clippers will not be remembered, it’s gonna be one of those forgotten teams like Barkley and Pippen on the rockets

Kawhi's genuinely one of my favourite players to watch, but that man has one of the most confusing legacies of all time. Genuinely one of the best players I've seen play the game, but just never healthy enough. Two rings, two finals MVPs. Gonna be interesting to see him in all time discussions when he is done.

As a Raptors fan, I see this is an absolute win. We won the same amount of playoff games with one year of Kawai. Then the Clippers did with multiple years of Kawhi and Paul George. I feel sorry for lifelong clippers fans.

When I heard about the PG trade I was more excited for this video than anything any media outlet had to say. Thank you for the exceptional Clippers hate as always.

By getting to the 2021 WCF, Kawhi & PG did have the most successful season in Clippers history! Sure, Kawhi didn't even play in that WCF, but he contributed in the lead up. And yea, it's only ONE WCF, but it's the only one ever in team history. For the Clippers, that's amazing!!!!

The Nets and Clippers have very different situations from nearly every other team that's at an inherent disadvantage...
They're in close proximity to another team that fans will easily flock over to when your product isn't as exciting, so in a sad way, Nets and Clippers might be forced to chase super teams just to sell tickets...

That PG trade is bad. But there's worse. Garnett-Pierce to BKN handicapped a franchise and gave the Celtics their two top guys. The Nets also didn't even contend like the Clippers and those acquired players were gone in a few years. And PG/Kawhi were in their primes still. Garnett and Pierce were old

When the Clippers got PG and Kawhi in Free Agency in 2019 as a Lakers fan it was so nauseating to watch and hear people jumping on the Clippers jock like crazy. The only people that had the Lakers winning that was on TV was Shannon Sharpe and Nick Wright respectfully. All this LA Our Way, Street Light Over Spotlight and Kawhi taking a shot at LeBron in his New Balance King Of LA commerical was ridiculous. And the Lakers were the Top Team in the NBA that year too. #1 in the West and #1 or #2 in Defense but people still pick the Clippers to win it all even in the bubble. But when they collapse as the media looked like jackass with egg all over their face, then we started to hear "Oh it was a Bubble/Mickey Mouse Championship, That doesn't count." Like the goal post was push so far it was in the parking lot 😅😅😅😅.

THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTE FAILURE BY THE LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS ON A GRAND SCALE.
