One of the most valuable reviews I’ve come across. Excellent commentary analyzing each model and useful sound comparisons with both USB and XLR. Very well done.

This brilliant video is really straightforward, and I must say, the audio test result was educational. But there’s something I want to throw into the mix, a little nugget of wisdom that I reckon you could explain far better than I can, for many new podcasters, room reverb is an absolute nightmare. Seriously, it can ruin audio quality and before you know it, your listeners are tuning out. I found this out the hard way, believe me. A little while ago, I splashed out on a condenser mic, thinking I was all set to go. I mean, I did my homework, but I totally missed one massive detail "my room wasn’t treated for acoustics at all". The reverb was so annoying that I ended up putting my podcast plans on the back burner.
And you know what? Even fancy tools like Adobe’s AI audio cleaner can struggle with that pesky room reverb, especially if the audio isn’t in English. Just something I’ve picked up along the way. Kudos to anyone who opts for a dynamic microphone. 1.Shure 2.Rode 3.FiFine

I think the pod mic could easy be the winner, if you use the build in DSP features. You can shape the live recorded sound quite a bit to your taste. EQ, Aphex, Compression etc. These effects only work when used via usb though but are saved in the mic and stay there even if used on a different PC/Mac

I just got the Rode Podmic and the zoom F3 audio recorded. Do you have a video on how to use the rode Podmic XLR and an audio recorder to get the best audio ?

MAONO PDX400 is great as well. The best built quality, one of the best sounding, XLR & USB, switchable cardioid polar pattern, volume control for headphone and main output...all the features of the Shure and more but a fraction of the price!!!

Good review but pls the’re dynamic mics so get closer when you talk, you’re talking like a condensor, i own the fifine k688 and a XLR is where it shines!

The MV7 is just bad. They cut very much needed features of the SM7B to make it cheaper, such as no shock mount inside, a bad wind shield. Also, sound quality is atrocious in comparison. The Podmic easily wins, especially since RØDE started to sell the matching Pop filter. I say either go for the RØDE Podmic, or say F*** the SM7B like look, buy a Shure SM58 singing microphone, alongside the Shure A55M mount and Shure A58WS wind shield. Easy win as it comes very close to the SM7B.
