This was an absolutely beautiful moment

The Montreal Canadiens have made the NHL Playoffs, for the first time since 2021. In doing so, with an average age of 25.95, they are now the youngest team in NHL history to make the Playoffs. Lane Hutson also tied the NHL record for most assists as a rookie D-man at 60! So while their matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes was certainly a fun one, I also wanted to touch on what happened after the game. About a month ago, Twitter user LuciLou08 reached out to Gallagher stating she had a Hockey Fights Cancer warmup jersey of his that he had dedicated to his mom in 2022. With his mother Della passing away earlier this year, she now felt it belonged to him. He accepted and they set up a jersey exchange date for April 16th, the Canadiens final home game of the season. The exchange took place after the Canadiens clinched their Playoff berth and was absolutely beautiful. I cover it all and more in todays NHL hockey video!

Whatever happens from now on, for this 55-year Habs fan this has been one of the most memorable seasons I've witnessed

The many miles we walked
The many things we learned
The building of a shrine
Only just to burn

May the wind be at your back
Good fortune touch your hand
May the cards lay out a-straight
All from your command

That's the way it is
That's the way it is
That's the way it is
That's the way it is

Blue heron leaves the northern sky
It trusts the journey to new heights
What's the meaning of the scar
If we don't learn how to heal?
Should we ever be apart?
Then how does it feel?

That's the way it is
That's the way it is
That's the way it is
That's the way it is

Shine light into darkness
Shine light into darkness

That's the way it is
That's the way it is (so many miles to walk)
That's the way it is (so many things we've got to learn)
That's the way it is (oh-oh, that's the way it is)
That's the way it is (oh)
That's the way it is

I've been a habs hater my whole life but this specific team and the Gallagher gesture made it so I'm rooting for them this year what a squad and what a heartfelt moment ..let's go habs

It may not be the exact same and I don't want to take away from this moment but I had something similar with my local ECHL team. Bought a players Hockey Fights Cancer jersey and got to meet him and he signed it right there. Both his parents have cancer unfortunately and I gladly let him keep it to give to his parents. Sometimes it's just the right thing to do.

No matter what team you root for you have got to admit how amazing this is

As a Canes fan, Im glad the habs made it. Bell Centre is the most electric stadium in the league. I'm happy for Gallagher, and Lucie is such a great person. I'm super glad this turned out well for them. I've always loved Gallaghers game. Gonna be so much fun watching them in the playoffs. Hopefully my Canes get to face them ;)
