Elvis Presley - Bringin' It Back - From First Take to the Master

Показать описание
Over three days in March 1975, Elvis undertook his last professional venture into a recording studio. From 10 until 12 March, Elvis recorded tens songs just enough to compile an album with Felton Jarvis also capturing an informal jam of Tiger Man.
The resultant album that was the result of this session, was the underrated Today album, which deserves wider recognition in non-Elvis circles. Bringin’ It Back is in keeping with the general theme of much of the album, a melancholy country based ballad.
The song was the penultimate track of the whole session, one of only two recorded on 12 March 1975. Elvis completed the song in just four takes and post production was undertaken in three separate parts. The first took place on 8 April 1975 with the bass partially re-recorded with brass added the following evening. The final part was the addition of strings which took place on 14 April, thus completing the master for inclusion on the album.
Of the ten songs contained on the Today album, six were performed on stage by Elvis, although some more than others. However, this song could perhaps have a spurious claim to be added to that number due to events at Elvis’ Las Vegas season closing show on 2 September 1974. Around this time Elvis had added a feature to his show where his backing vocalists would have a spot where they could perform a song for the audience. This song was often performed by Voice but that unique rendition saw Elvis sing bass and this rendition is included in this compilation.
As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!
