Brother, Mike, as I was watching this video, I couldn’t help to think about the Pilatus and the TBM‘s by comparison. Mostly, I kept thinking about the fact that a lot of these jets, maybe, with the exception of the vision jet, can’t land or takeoff from most airfield that I like to Visit. But, the Pilates, PC 12, and most TBM seem to be able to do that. So all seem to be inferior, in my book to those platforms. I will say that it’s all above my pay grade, since I am pretty much tooling around in a Cessna 152, which is all I can afford right now! Keep after a brother!

The Beechcraft Premier, especially for the acquisition cost, is one of the best light jets in the world. 450 knots with largest in class cabin and incredibly efficient Williams engines makes it arguably best in class when looking at overall cost.

Eclipse is actually about half weight of the Phenom 100. I though the Phenom was light but several sources misconstrued the lbs and kg so its 3300kg, not lbs but Eclipse is 3600lbs.
Prices lately are ridiculous. Phenom 300 used to be 8mill just a couple of years ago, now it's 13mil+. Disgusting.
2 interesting observations can be made about the light jet market or let's call the potential ALJ, actually light jet: A single piece CF fuselage is naturally suited for pressurization and can be vastly lighter than both Phenom and Eclipse. And very inexpensive to make. And with a light plane jet engines can be very small and small jet engines are quite simple thus can be dirt cheap and last. A turbo for a car, which is a compressor and turbine made of inconel just like jet engines costs retail about 300$. An appropriate turbofan engine could genuinely be priced at 1000$ in mass production. The potential for improvement in aviation is extreme.

Not sure what an "entry level" jet is. That's like equating a jet to an "entry level" Formula I open-wheel racing car. And, as usual, the insurance companies decide what "chops" you have to bring to fly one - even the "entry level" ones. Wanna fly it single pilot? Bring the flight hours - in multi-engine, high-performance, complex aircraft. AND, bring the Brinks truck-o-cash every six months.

PC24? Citation CJ2, 3 4? Phenom 300? These are all more expensive single pilot jets than the ones listed in the video. This used to be a great channel full of interesting info, but it looks like these days not much effort goes into it. It's a shame.
