Personally I Think windbreakers and the like are pretty underrated pieces of gear. If it’s not absolutely pouring rain and your moving quickly a windbreaker is a great choice. This seems like a good alternative to the ecws one too

Seems like there could be a lot of great uses for this. Quick camo, an extra layer for wind or cold, PJs, or like Steve above me said, something to wear while your clothes dry. I may have to snag one and see what it works for.
