The French government is reviewing a new immigration bill that is expected to streamline the asylum process, but also make it harder for people seeking jobs.

Some members of President Emmanuel Macron’s own party say the proposals betray France's humanitarian tradition.

Others say the bill is not tough enough.

Al Jazeera's Natacha Butler reports from Grenoble, France.

Immigration itself is not evil IF you invite the right group of people. I'm pro immigrants as long as they are fellow Europeans or american and south east asians

Solidarity in asylum in Europe is when Germany bears more burdens than ALL other EU countries TOGETHER?
When the majority of asylum seekers and migrants of Europe end up in Germany?

Are not the planned legally compliant CSU Dublin III refusals the least that needs to be implemented FIRST and NOW in advance of pressure on the other EU countries for a true solidarity solution in Europe?

The European solution to the issue of asylum or migration currently being lived, which rejects Sweden, Denmark, France, Italy, Austria, Bulgaria in the absence of authorization and or papers migrants and DAS should, Germany must finally do the same, then we have also the legally compliant European solution on the issue of asylum or migration, in combination with a much more effective FRONTEX!

Regulated immigration and with a structured system like, migration against international law and with the moral lobe NO!

Europe finally needs an "Australian solution" to the border regime without delay; clear rules for migration and migration across Europe On-site solutions in Africa and the Middle East, Arab-Muslim countries. Peace and population planning, building-up and other economic concepts in the eco- and economics of the economy, for example. The problems of Africa, the Middle East or Asia can NEVER be solved in Europe, but aggravate their own if not finally come from a solution package.

I’m increasingly impressed by Emmanuel Macron, he displays a Bismarckian mastery of realpolitik. As controversial as this move is, it definitely cuts Marine LePen and the French far right’s legs out from under them. Its especially amusing to see other European right wingers applauding this-guess what? By strengthening his own hand Macron ensures NO FREXIT. And he even strengthens his hand to turn the screws to Theresa May over Brexit. Who has the last laugh now?
