Patrick from Burton Europe gives us a quick demonstration of how their new "Step On" snowboard bindings work. Simply step in with your heel first, then engage the two cleats at the toe; to release, pull the lever and lift your heel, then twist your toe slightly.

I used to snowboard all the time when I was in high school.... things have changed a lot... board arnt even rounded on the nose and tail anymore. And now if you buy Burton boards you have to have Burton binding which means you have to have Burton boots... well played Burton

im thinking about getting 1 just for my back foot and a regular binding for my leading foot. who wants to do the same and split the new setup with me. I'm goofy and sz 12 ... you'd have to be regular and sz 12

How well can you use the step-in system in deep snow/powder conditions? Most people who have used various step-in systems in the past said that you simply can not get into a step-in when in deep powder.

Awesome thanks for the vid! Can the boots work with other bindings?

Would these work with ski boards? When I bought my RVL8s last season, was told I needed bindings w/straps, but these step on bindings are what I'd like to put on my boards.

The problem I had with the step on bindings was heel lift inside the boot. The first day or two they worked great, and then the boots packed out, and the became a bit too big. If your boots don’t fit exactly right there’s no way to ratchet your ankle back down, where as with strap bindings you can get away with a boot that is a bit too big or packed out. With step on bindings if your boots don’t fit exactly right, it will ruin your day. But if they do fit well step on bindings are actually pretty great.

Do the bindings attach to boards with the 8 screw configuration rather than the channel slot Burton uses? I've only seen them on Burton snowboards so far.

I like this design but I would have to check how responsive it is during riding. It seems to me that lack of the toe strap may result in less precise control. What you guys think?

Will these bindings work with standard boots?

"Some testers have actually reported the opposite, i.e. that having the ends of your boot locked rather than mainly on your ankle actually increases response." what happens after a season of riding when the boots become softer because of wear ?? do i then have to buy new what are burton the apple of snowboarding?

I like this a lot as I hate sitting down and strap in. Are these for experts only? What about for beginners who have big falls on the mountain and keep dragging it on the snow before stopping, would it comes off? Are these bindings made for it? Or for park guys who do big jumps and fall down hard, would it comes off? I know the testers are all expert so they would hardly fall like beginners.

выглядит очень не надежно, но нужно тестировать, не думаю что инжинеры burton просто решили сдлеать такое не протестировав, но помниться мне были степины... при сильной нагрузке на выкручивание что будет?

hey whitelines, should call burton out on the fact that this is not an original idea. i saw an exact setup the same as these new burton ones the other day in mayrhofen, however they were from the early 00s and even had a heal strap attached to the boot and all.
