I think I was in that situation when I had surgery. I know I had an intern just out of medical school chip away at my cast after one of those operations. He had to ask the nurse what the different instruments were called.

I had a stem to stern episiotomy done by a first timer med student. It wasn’t any fun for either of us, I assure you. The local anesthetic wasn’t taking and i felt every single suture. Felt like I was walking around with glass in my pants for months afterwards.. What a nightmare.

Hahaha reminds me of having to perform and say muscles and their insertions/attachments out loud for exams in massage school. I can do anything in front of anyone now lol - it was great confidence training, actually. Terrifying in the beginning though.

Ahahah last year I was suturing a man's arm and it was my first stitch. but the guy was making noises like he was hurting and i looked at him furiously as if to say "shhhh be quiet!"

One of the teaching hospitals in Houston, Texas, was also a charity hospital, and we were thee several times a week dropping patients off. The chief resident of the ER kept Operation in the break room for the student doctors to play with, lol.

You thread your needle lile that? I dont know anything about surgery so i may be totally wrong, but if youre sewin, if you hold the thread between your thumb and pointer with just a little poking out, and put the needle on top, it helps make things easier! Sorry if this is silly and for being unrelated but i know id appreciate knowin :]

I have a suturing kit that a practice on from time to time. Instead I am becoming a vet tech or veterinarian. Going to school and everything rn for it.
