RC Airplane Carbon Cub S2: New CG, Max Elevator Authority, A 3 Point Landing!

Now that this airplane has an ideal performance setup, instead of an out-of-the-box setup; with slightly aft CG and maximum possible elevator authority by using top elevator horn hole and high rates; it's like a whole new Airplane! SO MUCH more capable particularly with regard to slow flying and landing. And, as you can see, her takeoff ability is now greatly enhanced, she can take off VERY slow and in a very short distance! Also, now that the Cub is setup ideally, as Jeff in Lower Alabama had recently suggested to me, I need to start turns with rudder and then blend in aileron. I was starting turns with elevator and adding rudder with the toned down out of the box setup, but now I will be turning using the rudder first. Finally, got myself together and did a sweet 3 point landing at the end! The plane is ready, now practice practice practice with her new setup!

Nice job buddy! Yep rudder skills are something we push in our how to become a better rc pilot vid. Essential to flying STOL well. Turn with rudder, control bank angle with aileron, keep it level in the turn with elevator. Keep practicing buddy...you are getting better all the time!

It’s even better if you rip out the stock RX and replace it with a spectrum Ar630 can do so much more with it now.
